Braselton, GA – The second weekend of the F1600 Formula F Championship Series at Road Atlanta proved to be successful for the Mygale Honda drivers entered in the event.
Race one was held on Friday afternoon, with WISKO Race Engineering’s Aaron Telitz starting from the pole. Aaron proved the qualifying pace was legit when he completed the sweep with a win.
Telitz battled right to the checkers with Bryan Herta Autosport’s Adrian Starrantino, who added to his championship lead with a strong second place finish. Fellow Mygale pilots Ayla Agren (also of Bryan Herta Autosport) and Steve Bamford, driving the Rice Preparation Mygale Honda, locked in four of the top five spots.
“The Mygale chassis handled great all weekend at Road Atlanta,” said Telitz. “Right out of the box, the car was fast and responded really well to changes.”
On Saturday, the second 16-lap race brought two more podium finishes for the venerable Mygale, as Telitz and Bamford finished in second and third, respectively.
“Congratulations to Aaron and WISKO Race Engineering on a very successful weekend at Road Atlanta,” said BHA team owner Steve Newey. “It was very exciting to see Mygale Hondas finish first through fourth in the race on Saturday.”
Following the first four races of the twelve race F1600 Championship Series season, Mygale drivers occupy four of the top five positions with Telitz leading the way, followed closely by Adrian Starrantino, Jake Eidson, Ayla Agren and Steve Bamford.
The 2013 season continues for the F1600 Formula F Championship Series with rounds five and six on May 24-25, 2013 at the seven-turn, 1.53-mile Lime Rock Park. The Mygale cars will look to continue their quest for a championship.
